Oz has a new couple that’s “perfect together.” Christine Dwyer and Billy Harrigan Tighe will join the cast of the second national tour of Wicked on May 2. Dwyer and Harrigan will play the roles of Elphaba and Fiyero, respectively.

Dwyer is a Wicked alumnus, returning to the tour after understudying the role of Elphaba for two years. She played Maureen in the tours of Rent, making stops in the U.S., Canada and Japan. Regional credits include Tommy, Tinyard Hill, Gypsy and The New Hopeville Comics.

Tighe, like Dwyer, is returning to the tour, having understudied the role of Fiyero. He recently played the role of Jean-Michel in the first national tour of La Cage aux Folles. He has also been seen in the national tour of Dirty Dancing. Regional credits include Hairspray, Happy Days, Footloose and Dreamgirls.

Dwyer and Tighe join a cast that includes Tiffany Haas as Glinda, Marilyn Caskey as Madame Morrible and Paul Kreppel as the Wizard.

A vivid reimagining of the classic The Wizard of Oz, Wicked spotlights the untold stories of Oz’s most famous characters: the Wicked Witch of the West and her unlikely friend, Glinda the Good. The show follows the tale of green-skinned Elphaba through the life-changing events that eventually label her “wicked.” Fun for the whole family, Wicked is a tale about love, friendship and trust that reveals that there are two sides to every story. The Grammy-winning score by Stephen Schwartz features the songs “The Wizard and I,” “Popular” and “Defying Gravity.”
